Saturday 10 - 11AMClass of ’84 Panel discussionDear Classmates,
Thank you all for emailing us with your ideas and suggestions for the panel
discussions to be held on Saturday morning, June 13th, right after our class
meeting from 9:45-11:00 am. The topics you suggested naturally fell into two
groups, so we'll be holding two panels which will run concurrently, one in
Severance Living room and one in the Dining Hall.
The first panel is "Career and life transitions - staying home, returning to
the work force, changing fields, retiring early".
The second panel subject is "Being 46 - the surprises, the challenges, the
issues and decisions". We will including topics such as adoption as a single
mom, taking care of aging parents, parenthood, making unconventional choices,
menopause, and health.
Our format will be five classmates for each panel with each giving a five
minute talk and then opening up the floor for questions, contributions,
comments and discussion.
As we went through the planning for this, we realized there are many books and
resources we could share with each other, so we have started a
resource page on the
web site. If you would like to
add a book or resource, please just email your suggestions to
Normadrew@Wellesley84.org and
they'll be posted to the site.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning for a lively discussion!
Our Best,
MaryAnne Gucciardi and Lisa Young Rourke
